    Officers

    Past President – Manny Cordova (2023-2024)

    Manuel “Manny” Cordova is the Human Resource Manager for Bulmann Dock & Lift, Boyne City, MIIn 2006 he earned his BS in Business Management from Lake Superior State University and went on to acquire his MBA from Lawrence Technological University in 2014, all while raising a family. He has been able to play an integral role in multiple organizations and sectors. His background includes management, accounting, sales, recruiting and human resources in the healthcare, manufacturing and hospitality fields. In his free time he is an avid scuba diver, sailor, restores classic cars and enjoys spending time with his three children, and his dogs.

    President – Christine Wilhelm (2023-2024)

    Christine is the HR Director for East Jordan/Bellaire Family Health Centers and she resides in Charlevoix with her husband and sheltie named Birdie. Since our son and daughter grew up and left the nest, we are now enjoying having only to answer to the dog! Prior to my HR role at the health center, I previously worked in administration at Charlevoix Hospital for 20+ years. I enjoy my job in HR/healthcare, as it provides an opportunity to meet so many new people from diverse educational backgrounds. When not at work, we enjoy our weekends at our cottage on Whitefish Bay in Paradise, MI

    President Elect – Katie Eberly (2023-2024)

    Katie Eberly is the Human Resources Manager at Dental Clinics North, a 9-clinic non-profit dental network serving the under- and un-insured dental patients in the northern Michigan region. Originally from Northern Michigan, Katie has been playing a role in HR since early 2007. In her free time she enjoys traveling, skiing, camping, and spending time with her daughter, husband, two dogs and a cat.

    Treasurer – Laura Kohler (2024-2025)

    Laura Kohler is the Human Resources Manager at Irish Boat Shop. Laura started her HR career while working for an at-risk youth camp in Tennessee and North Carolina where she focused on Training and Development. She continued to develop expertise in HR while working in Benefits Management in Yosemite National Park. Laura was promoted to the HR Manager position and moved to Grand Canyon National Park. In 2016 She moved back home to Northern Michigan wanting to get closer to water and family again. When not at work, Laura enjoys relaxing with her dogs at home.

    Secretary – Jenna Lindenburg (2024-2025)

    Jenna Lindenberg is the Human Resources Manager at Drost Landscape. With a true passion of serving and helping others, her HR career began in southern Michigan where she spent nine years at a manufacturing firm, specializing in Benefit Administration, Recruiting, and Corporate Wellness. Since moving to Northern Michigan in 2020, she’s excited to expand her network and serve within a new SHRM chapter. In her free time, she and her husband, Spencer, enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, and staying active outdoors.

    Laura Dinon

    Laura Dinon is an attorney with Plunkett Cooney, in Petoskey Michigan, exclusively counseling and representing employers on all types of employment and labor issues She is a founding member of the Northern Michigan Chapter of SHRM, has served as President and currently is the Board Secretary. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two young adult children, especially anything involving travel, water, skiing, golfing and/or cooking and baking, especially cheesecake.

    Nate Holmes, SHRM-CP

    Nate is a local to Northern Michigan and is currently the HR Manager at Moeller Aerospace in Harbor Springs, MI. He attended NCMC before transferring to CMU to obtain a Bachelors in HR Management. After joining the workforce, he earned his MBA from CMU. Nate has worked in HR for over 15 years in a variety of industries from higher ed to manufacturing. His HR experience includes roles as a specialist, generalist, and in leadership. When not in the office, he can be found spending time with his family and cheering on those Detroit Lions.

    Jennifer Nolan

    Jennifer Nolan joins us with fifteen years of HR experience as well as a career in Public Accounting. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from the University of Saint Mary’s in Minnesota. She is SHRM-SCP and HRCI SPHR certified. Jennifer is currently employed as the Human Resources Manager at North Country Community Mental Health and served as Treasurer on the Board of the Lakeshore Human Resource Management Association. She enjoys sailing, reading, knitting and skiing, when she is not working with people.

    Bailey Chamberlain

    Bailey is the Human Resources Manager at Grain Train Natural Foods Market.  She began her career in Human Resources when she took over as the HR Manager at Grain Train Natural Foods Market in 2022. She has a bachelor's degree in Anthropology and Spanish from Central Michigan University. She is passionate about supporting both people and planet through local initiatives and community outreach. 

    John Hudak

    John is the HR Director for Kilwins Chocolates Franchise and Kilwin's Quality Confections. He's a graduate of Michigan State University and holds SHRM-SCP and SPHR certifications.  Known as “Johnny Sweets” within the organization, joining Kilwins has been fantastic! It's wonderful to be surrounded by caring and dedicated team members, and a work environment that consists of amazing Kilwins Heritage Chocolate and Original Recipe Ice Cream! I’m passionate about bringing out the best in people and teams, developing the next generation of leaders, and fostering a high-performance work culture.  I grew up in Northern Michigan and enjoy the activities and lifestyle this area offers.
