About Us

Northern Michigan SHRM is an affiliate chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) bringing HR professionals from Northern Michigan and the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan together for professional development and networking.

As a 100% membership chapter, Northern Michigan SHRM requires individuals to be members of the national SHRM organization. To join our local chapter, you will be required to enter your National SHRM email address for registration purposes.

Our current membership comprises over 50 human resource professionals from diverse organizations and industries in the Northern Michigan Region. These industries include manufacturing, retail, hospitality, healthcare, non-profit, professional services, and more. Our members represent practitioners at various levels, ranging from senior HR officers to mid-level managers, specialists, and even individuals who serve as HR departments of one.

The primary goal of Northern Michigan SHRM is to foster a culture of excellence among HR practitioners in the Northern Michigan area.
