Welcome to the Website for the

Northern Michigan Society for Human Resource Management

Our local Chapter has been growing since its charter in October 2006. We serve human resource professionals in several Northern Michigan counties. We are active with our state and national chapters and hold quarterly Educational Workshops.

Please look through our site, noting our Programs and Events and contact us with any questions or for information on joining our local chapter.

Join us at SHRM Connect, the social network built specifically for HR professionals. On SHRM Connect, members can create a profile, collaborate around communities of interest and network with other HR professionals.

**NMSHRM has achieved Membership Superstar status for 2011!  Our chapter attained over 3% growth in SHRM members for 2011!  Considering the challenges faced due to the economy, this is an outstanding accomplishment.   Chapters had to really stretch their resources and be innovative in their approaches to attract and retain members. This commitment to growing SHRM membership is to be commended.

**  Our Chapter has been identified as a 2011 SHRM Foundation Chapter Champion!  As a chapter, we earned this designation in 2011 by:
  • Making a monetary contribution to the annual campaign from your chapter's or state council's funds.  We   consistently make this donation on behalf of our program speakers with each event.  In 2011 we also made a matching contribution from our members in memory of Shawn Hall, SPHR.
  • Increase by 10% or more the chapter’s or state council’s monetary donation to the SHRM Foundation over the previous year’s donation

By achieving this award, the chapter distinguishes itself as an outstanding organization dedicated to serving the needs of its members and to the advancement of the human resource management profession.**
